- Sesame seeds roasted (Til) – 1 cup
- Sugar 1 cup
- Ghee 1 tbsp
- Chopped nuts
- Green cardamom powder
*Collect all the things beforehand. Roll out the chikki as soon as you remove the wok from the flame. If you delay in rolling out the mixture, then the mixture will have a thick consistency and will freeze.
*Cut the nuts into tiny pieces.
*Apply ghee on the rolling board to make it smooth.
*Heat a heavy bottomed pan, add sesame seeds in preheated pan for roasting, Stir constantly on medium flame and roast until seeds get little brown in colour and pop up. Now take out the sesame seeds in a plate.
*Add ghee to a pan. Once the ghee is melted, add sugar to it. Stir constantly and let the sugar melt on medium flame. Once the sugar is completely melted turn off the flame. Now add the roasted sesame seeds to the pan. Add chopped nuts and cardamom powder to it.
*Keep stirring till everything is thoroughly mixed. Make sure to cook it on medium flame.
Pour the mixture over the board or butter paper and take one plastic sheet so it is easy to roll. Apply oil on the rolling pin as well and roll it out thin.Take out plastic sheet and Cut it into pieces. Once the chikki is cool, separate the pieces and take it out in a plate.
- Always make in small batches.
- I am taking pictures during second batch that’s why some sesame seeds are seen while melting of sugar.😃
