Gram Flour Halwa
Gram flour( besan) halwa is rich and very delicious Indian dessert. It is very easy and quick to prepare, this can be served any time you feel like eating something sweet. Besan ka halwa is made with besan, sugar, puree ghee and dry nuts and it can be prepared in many ways. Besan is also known as gram flour made from ground chickpeas.
- 1 cup Gram flour( besan)
3/4 cup ghee
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 cup milk
1/2 cup water (approximately)
- Heat water and milk in a pan. Stir in cardamom powder and sugar set aside.
Heat ghee in a shallow frying pan. Add gram flour( besan )and roast in the ghee for until it smells nutty and fragrant.
Pour in the milk mixture gradually. Keep stirring to avoid lumps. Add water as needed. Cook the mixture for 10 – 15 minutes, stirring frequently till the halwa pulls away from the sides of the pan.
Serve hot and garnish with your favorite dryfruits.
Besan Halwa is a good remedy for cold.
It is good if you use thick( Mota) besan. no worries if you don’t have add 1 tsp of suji to it.
