Mango Pickle

This is my mum’s recipe.

Hing ka achar


  1. 500 gm green mangoes
  2. 2 tsp salt
  3. Chilli powder to taste
  4. Hing


  1. Peel and slice mangoes into small pieces.
  2. Add salt and Hing.
  3. keep them overnight.
  4. Next day spread them on a towel and leave in the sun  to dry a little.
  5.  Don’t throw salty water.
  6. In salty water add all ingredients. Mix well.
  7. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and fill the jars.
  8. Keep on a sunny window  for 10-12 days.
  9. Ths pickle can get mouldy, if kept outside the fridge for long. So store in the fridge.
