Sweet Potato Chaat ( Shakarkandi chaat )

In Delhi we  get sweet potato chaat especially during winters. Chaat is a common term used for savory spicy road side food in India.

Benefits of Sweet Potatoes

  1.  They are high in vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin D, iron, magnesium and potassium.

  2.  There are versatile. Try them roasted, puréed, steamed, baked, or grilled.

  3. Sweet Potatoes Can eat during fasting also.

4 They are good source of fiber.


  1. 4 sweet potato boiled

  2. Juice of ½ lemon or to taste

  3. ½ teaspoon chaat masala

  4. ½ teaspoon coriander chutney

  5. ¼ teaspoon black salt

  6. ⅛ teaspoon red chili powder


  1. Boil  sweet potato .It’s done when you are able to insert a knife easily inside it. You can also roast them in oven.

  2. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into small cubes.

  3. Transfer them to the serving plate.

  4. Drizzle coriander chutney all over.

  5. Sprinkle chaat masala, red chili powder and black salt.

  6. Squeeze in the juice of half lemon.

7  Garnish with chopped coriander or lettuce  leaves.
