Potato sandwich ( aloo sandwich)

Potato sandwich or aloo sandwich is one of the most delicious and easy Indian sandwich recipes that can be made without much effort.

  1. 4 small potato minced or boiled and mashed

  2. 1 large onion and 1 tomato chopped

  3. ¼ tsp. cumin /jeera

  4. 1 green chili chopped

  5. 1 tsp grated ginger

  6. ¼ tsp. red chili powder

  7. ¼ tsp garam masala powder

8 Pinch of amchur (optional)

  1. Salt as needed

  2. Oil as needed

  3. Mint or coriander leaves

  4. Slices of bread

  5. Butter or oil as needed for toasting


  1. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin, and allow it to sizzle, add ginger and fry till the raw smell disappears. Add onions, green chilies and fry till golden then add tomato.

  2. Add boiled and mashed potatoes or potato mince. Fry for 2 to three minutes. If using potato mince, add water just enough to cook potatoes

  3. When the moisture evaporates, add garam masala, red chili powder,  and amchur powder. Mix everything well, mash with the back of a ladle or potato masher. Cook till the mixture binds well.

  4. Butter or oil the outer sides of the bread, spread the curry on the bread and place another slice on the top

  5. Toast it till golden.

  6. If you do not have a toaster, you can  made it on tawa.
