Seviyan – Vermicelli Kheer/Doodh Ke Jave /Happy Raksha Bandhan

Seviyan kheer also known as vermicelli kheer or Doodh Ke jave , is must at Raksha bandhan at my house.

The Seviyan which I used are homemade. We call Seviyan ( jave). Usually I also make salty jave which are similar to pulao.

Ingrdients

  1. 1 cup Vermicelli
  2. 2 litres Milk
  3. 1 cup Sugar
  4. Almonds
  5. cardamom Powder
  6. Saffron strands

Method

  1. In a pan  add vermicelli .Saute on a medium low flame as they will burn out easily. As they start to turn light brown, lower the flame…

  2. Pour in the milk.Add saffron.

  3. Bring it to a full boil and cook till vermicelli is fully cooked and tender. Mix in nuts and mix cardamom powder.

Garnish with nuts and enjoy hot or cold.
