Dry Mushroom Masala

  1. 250 gm sliced white button mushrooms
  2.  1 big chopped onion
  3. 2 chopped tomatoes or tomato puree
  4. 1/2 cup peas
  5. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  6. a pinch of hing
  7. 1/2 tsp chopped ginger
  8. 1/2 tsp chopped green chili
  9. 1 tsp coriander powder
  10. 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  11. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  13. salt to taste
  14. 1 tbsp oil


  1. Heat oil in a pan, add  hing, cumin and let them splutter.
  2. Add onions and fry till they turn golden, add ginger and green chili fry till the raw smell goes off.
  3. Add tomato or  tomato puree, salt ,coriander powder, chili powder and turmeric.
  4. Once the gravy comes to a boil, add the mushrooms and peas and cover & cook for some time.
  5. Lastly add garam masala and coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice or chapati.If you want some gravy then add some water.

Serve with amritsari kulcha, angakdi, missi roti , multigrain chapati or paratha.
