Chilla Cum Paratha/Gram Flour Paratha
This is the paratha in which we get besan taste with wheat paratha. This I learnt from my mother.
Ingredients
Dough
- Multigrain flour 2 cup
- Salt 1 tsp
- water
Batter
- Besan 1 cup
- 1 tsp carom seeds/ajwain
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chopped ginger
- 1 chopped green chili
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Coriander leaves
Method
- Knead the dough.
- Mix all things together written under batter and make thick batter.
- Now roll chapati , put on tawa .
- Flip it and apply besan batter over it and add some drops of oil.
- Now turn that side of chapati to tawa .
- Flame should be low. Apply oil on both sides to make it crispy.
- Serve your chilla cum paratha with pickle, chutney or yogurt.

Yes! I love that you don’t use eggs too. I am very allergic. I have to show it to my daughter to see if she will eat it. She reads the blogs now and picks out recipes. It’s kind of funny.😍

Thanks Carol that you love my vegetarian blog. Yes I agree with you we have to cook according to our kids choice. We all mothers are happy when our little ones asked to make dishes of their choice.💖

Nice.. Err i hope u dont mind if i ask a silly question. What’s the main diff between chilla n puda?

Thanks sri vidhya. Puda is deep fried and chilla is made with very less oil like paratha. In puda we take 1 spoon of batter and put in oil and in chilla we spread the batter.
